Session Levels

In keeping with the Body Control Pilates approach to the Method, the levels are "building blocks" so that your technique progresses gradually and safely. Progression through the levels is on teacher advice;  we do have your best interests at heart and want you to have the best possible experience of Pilates.  The exercises should be challenging but you should never feel as if you are struggling in a class.

Beginners

To get you started and prepared for an Improvers Course, we run regular Beginners Series (£40) throughout the year. These consist of a two hour intensive workshop followed by two one hour sessions and are suitable if you have no pain or injury. Have a look at our Newspage for the next dates or call us for further information.

Improvers

The principles from Beginners are now explored, with more demanding exercises requiring greater skill. The exercises are broken down into accessible versions to increase strength, flexibility and encourage greater body awareness.

Intermediate

Focuses on the classical Pilates exercises at an intermediate level, including the flow of sequences and the transitions between the exercises. Please note that restricted movement or injury will inhibit your learning at this level so we would advise you to use the other levels to prepare for this more challenging class.

Advanced

This level tackles the original Pilates advanced exercises and demands excellent control, co-ordination and strength. This level is not suitable for those with injury.
